Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Beach

An aircraft soaring above a crowded California beach unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm trees as onlookers observed.

Recordings uploaded online show the aircraft beginning to twirl over the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a steps close to the coastal road.

Emergency Response Details

Emergency responders said five individuals were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” following the incident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the pavement were harmed. Details on their condition were not yet released.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
