Wizard of Legend 2, an procedurally-generated quest about sorcerers striving to become renowned heroes, will arrive to Nintendo's console in the coming weeks. Gamers can get accessible Nov. 25, providing fans of shared-screen games a fresh shot to explore one among the year's top-tier releases in its class.
The Wizard of Legend Sequel took the path of several niche releases. The developer launched it in beta testing in October 2024 on Windows PC, before publishing it fully, in conjunction with PS5 and Xbox Series X iterations, in June 2025. Upon release, it was widely panned. Just less than a third of its player feedback were positive. The Steam reviews were "varied", drawing from close to two thousand evaluations, with a lot of players pointing out the general lack of polish and abundance of technical issues initially. Gamers on PlayStation and Xbox also criticized that the multiplayer component, a huge selling point for the release, was largely non-functional.
Yet as with numerous beta titles that release in imperfect forms, Wizard of Legend II has improved. During the last several months, its developers have deployed multiple updates aimed to resolve these problems. Since experiencing The Wizard of Legend Sequel more than any latest game in the current year, I can confidently say its functionality has improved compared to at launch (for Xbox, anyway). It has achieved the level where the vast majority of attempts, players can reliably initiate a co-op session to work. Quite an improvement!
And when The Wizard of Legend Sequel functions, it truly delivers. Using an isometric view, you battle through element-based levels by launching incantations in fast-paced combat. Plenty of sprinting, a great deal of evading, lots of managing cooldowns. It's dizzyingly fast-paced and remarkably inventive; through blending your spells with a friend's, you can unleash some devastating combinations.
While the portable iteration is yet to be comprehensively reviewed, it's important to remember Nintendo's famously strict guidelines for certification for Nintendo titles. Its creators mentioned via an announcement that the Nintendo release of Wizard of Legend 2 includes each improvement that have been applied in the current year.
